Hanging Around

With a light & fluffy agenda on the horizon this weekend, I plan to do nothing but hang around. Jusqu'à lundi (that's French for  see you Monday).

Trendy Tables

via Pinterest

With Mother's Day a little more than two weeks away (it's Sunday, May 13), the Haute Hostess in me has been in search of tablescaping trends for my first Mother's Day Brunch. I've been dreaming of lush lavenders, preppy peaches and translucent taupes mixed with hints of striking white, bold blue and enchanting emerald. Once I've committed to a color combination, I'll hit a few of my favorite home decor hot spots...the first being HomeGoods. Duh! Stay tuned for my shopping sojourn...and in the meantime indulge in my color crush.

Smitten with Spade

I love Kate I mentioned in a post last month. She personifies a classic style with a hint of femininity and a touch of vintage-prep. From a flirty frock to a charming cuff, Kate has it covered. I was combing through the 2012 spring collection and here's a glimpse at a few accoutrement I'm coveting for spring.

Monaco Miss

Club Monaco (one of my favorite retailers) finally launched their highly anticipated online store. It's about time, guys! I know I'm a few weeks late with this news, but just like Club Monaco, better late than never. This weekend, I was able to devote some quality time to browsing their spring 2012 collection. I loved the Style Muse section, which featured three women and their unique approaches to fashion. Upon carefully considering each style, I wondered if I was Quirky Sophisticate (eclectic, daring and free spirited), Effortless Parisian Chic (relaxed and simple, but always with a hint of glamour) or Elegant Edge (a mix of timeless style and rock-and-roll charm). Seeing as I didn't believe one style captured my essence completely, I figured I was a fashionable fusion of all three. I was my own creation. I was Monaco Miss -- a sophisticated style seeker who craved classics with a twist of trend and a pinch of prep. I love a traditional navy sheath paired with an unexpected red heel and Mediterranean-inspired clutch (like below). Here's a look at the Monaco must-haves that I'm sighing for this spring.

Chandelier Chic

I love chandeliers. The intricacies involved in chandelier design allow these exquisite pieces of art to illuminate an elegant and stylish light in any room. Chandeliers capture the center of attention and add character and depth to the spaces they grace. Some designs are so ornate that I often wonder if they are accompanied by enchanting stories of life in lavish Parisian castles or sweeping Swiss chalets. Today, chandeliers are found in many homes, however years ago they were rare and a true proclamation of personal wealth and social status. I recently came across chandeliers strung in different spaces that captured my decorative eye and creative heart.

Do you have a chandelier in your home? If so, describe your style and post a picture on the Rue Le Chat Facebook page.

La Belle Boutique

Paris is upon us Re Le Chat readers, so why not bring a piece of the posh city into your pad!? Now until 11 a.m. EST on Friday (that's tomorrow), Rue La La (the stylish shopping site we've all come to covet) is offering an exclusive Parisian-inspired boutique called what else but Très Chic. From petite plates to picturesque postcards, this beautiful boutique has something for all who are fascinated with the French. Here's a peek at what I'm currently craving for my purrfectly chic Parisian-style office.

Crushing on Coup

Earlier this month, Boston-based writer and local fashionista Alexandra Hall launched a new digital lifestyle magazine appropriately titled Coup Boston. In her editor's letter, Hall provides insight into the meaning of the word coup (as in coup d'état) which is described as a highly effective, unexpected stroke or act. A clever action, accomplishment or successful revolution. Coup Boston is indeed unexpected, but much needed. In a city crushing for that cosmopolitan connection, the online quarterly has it covered with features on fashion, beauty, décor, dinning and destinations.

As I devoured each page click by click, I was mesmerized with the issue's intoxicating blend of bold images, fashion-forward content and luxe living stories. This is exactly what Boston's social scene has been craving -- a gorgeous glossy gleaming with grandeur. Coup Boston is certainly an accomplishment and it will no doubt be a successful revolution. Hats off to you, Alex!

A Mandarin Style Marathon

The Boston Marathon is considered to be the county's most elite road race and Marathon Monday means it's Monday Funday  for those of us who are lucky enough not to be working...or running for that matter. As my friend Lady A strutted her stuff past the finish line under the sweltering sun (it was nearly 90 degrees today), I was cheering for her high atop Boylston Street at a posh marathon bash at the Mandarin Oriental. Congratulations on running and completing your first Boston Marathon.

My Lemonade

When life gives you lemons, make lemonade! That's what my mother always said. I've been in a rotten rut the last few days and decided I needed a retreat from writing to collect my calm and creative. With stress swirling from work (as in the real thing that pays my bills and designer handbag habit), neighbors (yakity yak) and my beloved car being bruised by a bad driver, my Rue has been anything but Chat-ty. Alas today, I managed to steal away a few seconds to sound off using the sanctuary that is my blog. So, au revoir lemons and bonjour lemonade.
