GLAMOUR at the 71st Golden Globe Awards

Last night was very busy for television. With so much entertainment and eye candy broadcasting from numerous networks, I had so many choices: the 71st Golden Globe Awards, Downton Abbey, Girls and Revenge. Sadly, I don't watch Girls... yet. I knew Revenge was out of the question -- that’s why I pay for DVR service. I knew E’s red carpet procession was a MUST. Oh how I love to tweet Hollywood's fashion hits and misses with the style and star struck.

I gushed over gorgeous gowns, dazzling diamonds and flawless faces for the better part of three hours (before turning my attention to Downton Abbey). Last night was noteworthy of many high-end designers and fashion houses including Oscar de la Renta, Carolina Herrera and Gucci. Personally, I thought Gucci hit a home run with Margot Robbie, Olivia Wilde and Mila Kunis.

In all honesty, it's the red carpet event that really feeds my stylish soul. I've been watching award show arrivals with my mom for as long as I can remember. These days, while I'm live tweeting the event, I'm also chatting with her on the phone. I don't know how I do all three at once. It's magic!

Here's a look at 10 of my favorites from the 71st Golden Globe Awards. You'll notice many familiar faces, while others may be less conventional but they're all beautiful nonetheless. And don't miss my dress picks from last year.

 Margot Robbie // Gucci
Sleek, stunning and sophisticated at 23-years-old. The youth in Hollywood should take several pages from Margot's book. Beyond. Beautiful. And I don't have much else to say except that it was my favorite look of the night. I loved the jewel trim and her emerald heels were killer too!

Kate Beckinsale // Zuhair Murad
Does Kate ever age? I mean, really. This dress was so flattering on her figure and just look at her decolletage. Perfection.

Olivia Wilde // Gucci
Who knew Gucci designed maternity?! But pregnant or not, Olivia looked elegant in emerald. The gown flattered her baby bump and she looked fabulously fit from head to toe. I hope I look this good in a gown when it's my turn!!!

Cate Blanchett // Armani Prive
Cate looked exquisite and romantic in black lace. I would have skipped the faux bob and opted for an on-trend updo a la Julia Roberts. Who else was crushing on those Chopard works of art dangling from her ears?

 Juliana Margulies // Andrew Gn
There are so many details about this black gown that I love -- the cap sleeves, brilliant twig design and plunging neckline are just a few. Bottom line, it suited Juliana perfectly. And she wore the dress; the dress didn't wear her.

Amber Heard // Atelier Versace
I love navy. I love one shoulder silhouettes. And I love high slits. So, basically this dress had it all. A dash of old-Hollywood glamour. A touch of modern. And a splash of sexy. This dress actually has similarities to the gown I wore to the Ellie Fund's Oscar Gala in Boston last year. Note to self: more navy, less black.

Nancy O'Dell // Marchesa
I've said it before and I'll say it again, Nancy O'Dell always looks flawless. Her gown was simple in form (even though it was embellished on top) and striking in hue. Cobalt is certainly her color. She also wore blue last year.

Julie Bowen // Carolina Herrera
I love cap sleeves and velvet is fitting for the season. Perhaps it was a little too Christmas-y, but I thought it was beautiful all the same. I'm also loving the red-purple combination...two colors I'd never think of pairing.

Michelle Dockery // Oscar de la Renta
Just like Lady Mary, Michelle can do no wrong with her wardrobe. Her sequin gown, with its marriage of taupe and gold, was fitting for Downton. And how chic was her cut?!

Sosie Bacon // Rhea Costa
Miss Golden Globe 2014 is the daughter of Kevin Bacon and Kyra Sedgwick. She graced the red carpet in a nude, hip-hugging gown with an intricate bodice and dipped neckline. At 21-years-old, she is one to watch.

Who were your picks for best dressed at the Golden Globes?
